Children/Young Adult Classes

We offer dance classes for children 4 years to young adults.  We have several dance groups. Children will be placed in a group based on their age and skill level. We are currently forming an adult dance group to continue the fellowship among our seasoned dancers. The following are our dance groups:

  • Opalakia:  4 to 6 years old, directed by Laura Georgalas

  • Asteria:  7 to 9 years old, directed by Art and Hillary Pathe

  • Filia:  10 to 13 years old, directed by Jessica Cometa, Eleni Taousakis, and Kris Captanis

  • Armonia:  14 to 18 years old, directed by Jessica Cometa, Eleni Taousakis, and Kris Captanis

  • Helios Choral Group:  4 to 18 years old, directed by Markayla Stroubakis

Annual Cardiff Greek Festival

In September, the first weekend after labor day, our dancers perform Greek dances in traditional costumes for those attending the Festival.  This is a great way for people to understand our heritage, the essence of the Hellenic spirit, and our giving back to God.

Folk Dance Festival (FDF)

In February, over President’s Day weekend, our dance groups participate in FDF. FDF is dedicated, through Orthodox Christian fellowship and committed leadership, to promoting, encouraging and perpetuating the Orthodox faith, Greek heritage and culture among individuals, families and communities by expressing it through folk dance, folk art, music and language. At FDF all of us grow together in spirit and strength. Memories are made that last a lifetime for families and friends.

Costumes

Saints Constantine and Helen provides costumes for the dance recitals, festival, and FDF.
